Not as good as Fennekin and Froakie's.

If Fennekin gets Fire/Fairy, it'll be potential OU because of its resistances and coverage. Even if it does turn out to be Fire/Psychic, it'll have great coverage. Froakie also has decent coverage with Water/Fighting typing.

This guy though... no matter what, he's fucked.

Fennekin seems to be a special attacker. Psychic and Fire are two great types for a special attacker. With Steel's importance against fairy, Fire type Pokemon are going to be in demand. The same goes for Poison slayers. Fire/Psychic is probably the best counter to Fairy Slayers. Grass and Dark are AWFUL for a defensive Pokemon.

And Psychic is a shit type to compliment Fire with both offensively and defensively, they don't mix at all. Moreover Fire is not SE against Fairy and Fennekin will not be sturdy enough to utilize the resistance. Grass is actually a BETTER defensive type then Fire because Grass is resistant to shit that matters. Dark is the issue but thankfully doesn't compromise Grass' defensive assets and pairs well with both Chandelure and Heatran defensively, the latter if supplemented by a fighting immune/resistant pokemon such as Gyarados, Tentacruel, or Jellicent.

Grass/Dark doesn't make a lick of sense. Grass + Steel, Grass + Fighting, hell even just monotype Grass makes more sense than that pairing considering they're likening him to a paladin or knight.

I never said Fire was SE against fairy. It is, however, SE against Steel, one of Fairy's weaknesses. A Psychic typing would cover fairy's poison weakness. Fennekin also isn't aiming to be a defensive type Pokemon, it aims to be a special attacker. I'd prefer Fairy as a secondary typing, but will settle for Psychic.

I'm saying it'll be good to counter common Fairy Slayers, not fairies themselves.

That's why we have team mates and why Celetran is a thing. And Jelebi. Jellitran. I can't fit Jellicent, Celebi, and Heatran together but fuck it.

Grass is good defensively and Grass/Fairy would be HABBIDING tier if something beefy enough gets it. Ferrothorn is already a thing, resisting Water and Elec on top of Steel's good shit and killing the Ground weakness is fantastic.

Mildly off-topic but fuck making a new thread. Why the hell are all electric types becoming immune to paralysis? It makes no sense at all. And why is electricity synonymous with paralysis anyway? Electrical attacks should inflict Burn if anything.

Except it hasn't? Victini's typing kind of kills the versatility and defensive prowess its ilk are known for and it's stuck with a Scarf and V-Creating the shit out of everything.
