I'd rather them to be static than have non-fluid animations, vis-a-vis animations with about 2 frames a second and not 24.

Gym Leaders apparently aren't "important characters" though

Those refer to the same planes.

It'd have to be XZ or YZ if it's a sequel.

Or just Z, a stand-alone sequel because the above mentioned are still 2D.
