Mega evos should be exclusive to Gen 5 and below. The entire point of them was to make older pokemon more relevant. Giving them to Kalos pokemon would destroy the entire point.

If the point is to make older Pokemon more relevant, why wouldn't they give Mega Evolutions to Pokemon who suck shit instead of Pokemon like Garchomp, Blaziken, and Lucario?
Gen 6 Pokemon will get Mega Evolutions, wait until Z/X2/Y2.

Not relevant as in "competitively relevant" but relevant in general.

Kalos pokemon won't need mega evolutions. They're already relevant, and they should stay Mega-less forever.

The main factor in who gets a Mega Evolution is popularity. Charizard and Mewtwo, the two most popular fully-evolved Pokemon, both have two Mega Evolutions because they're popular and GF wants the concept to be as hyped as possible. The most obscure Pokemon getting Megas are Ampharos, Mawile and Absol, all of whom have decent followings and the latter two were probably going to receive a normal evolution before GF decided to introduce Megas

No, not by a long shot (and I love Charizard). Charizard got a second Mega because it's still fucking huge in Japan popularity wise. I've been to those Pokemon centers and the kids jizz themselves for Charizard stuff

Sorry, but popularity is not enough. Blastoise vs Charizard is an incredibly close argument. Blastoise should get a Water/Steel or Water/Dark Mega evo that changes from 3 cannons into one massive fuck you up cannon. And then give Venasaur some shitty little bipedal mega evo to shut the last few up.
