I prefer the black skin because it has a interesting concept, they're meant to be Onibaba the mountain hag and obviously you can catch hypothermia up in the mountain which blackens the skin, that coupled with the ice type makes it a concrete connection. The woman who made it a racist thing was also black and probably was just trying to stir trouble (and in a way was kind of culturally insensitive herself due to her lack of knowledge of japanese mythology.)

They shouldn't have given in to that moron.

I see what you are saying, but you have to be reasonable and understand that 99% of people DON'T know semi-obscure japanese mythology and see a classic rendition of black-face. It doesn't matter that their was no intention of racism because racism was what most people saw. They were right to change it if for no other reason than a kids game labeled as racist doesn't sell many copies.

GF changed the design because their intention was never to offend; they thought it was harmless originally, and when they found out it wasn't (because someone pointed it out), they changed it so it was again. Everyone learned something about each other's culture, the "The More You Know" comet streaked across the sky, etc. No harm no foul, unless you start saying blithely idiotic things like >>14139303
