I wouldn't be surprised if they took out the ability levitate and made the pokemon that can fly or actually levitate (i.e. magnemite) allowable in sky battles. It makes a bit more sense to me.

not OP but i am so glad they showed this. It gives me hope that GF wasnt entirely lazy when it came to deciding who can participate in sky battles. I, like many others, believed that if a Poke was part Flying type or had the Levitate ability then they could sky battle. Pic related on the types of Pokes i hope will be able to take part in Sky Battles (those that can clearly fly, but lack the appropriate ability/type to do so)

Also
Maybe Electross wont be able to participate since it probably can only levitate a few feet off the ground and/or mainly lives in the sea judging by its Pokedex entry. Not holding my breath of course...

What's the point of sky battles anyway. It's like a smogon format where only "flying" mons are allowed.
Green and blue battles next! Only Green and blue pokeymans are allowed!

I feel, from a technical stand point, it's probably a lot easier for the game to just check a marker that indicates whether the pokemon can participate or not, rather than going through a criteria checklist
