You can't spoil Mario.
Zelda can be spoiled, but it's about the experience. Even if you know what's coming, it's not the same as playing it.
Pokemon's whole pull is discovering the new Pokemon. If you know them all already, Nintendo gets all poopy.
But I also don't think Nintendo did -anything- except maybe e-mail people to please stop without any actual threat.
