What the actual fuck I'm so angry. The most insulting part is the FUCKing terrible color scheme and the complete lack of effort when it comes to any part of this design that ISN'T the shell. Fuck.
It should never have gotten to the stage where fan art is far, far superior to the real thing, but it has, and for that, gamefreak should be ashamed. Gen 6 confirmed for the last gen I play. The actual Pokemon designs have always been the best part of the games for me, but after these starters, after charizard X, after Spritzee and Swirlix's evo's... Nope. I know how stupid I'll sound, but I'm saying it anyways: Pokemon jumped the shark. It's dead.
