I left Gen III kinda disappointed. I didn't even play Emerald.

The GTS was fucking amazing. I remember being addicted to trading for absolutely anything, especially Japanese pokes, before I knew about Masuda Method. I'd Pal Park high level Kanto Pokemon en masse as trading fodder, I could get so much for stuff like a Haunter from the sevii Islands or a Kadabra from Cerulean cave. /v/ threads mentioned how Japanese players liked having foreign Pokemon, so I named a bunch of them after really American things like "Hot Dog" or "Cheeseburger" or "GWBush" as a joke.

I never looked up pokemon on the net or anything and saw daimond and pearl were released. Picked up pearl and found the GTS. Fucking loved it, Epessially when I caught a combee that I hated and I put it up for anything and someone gave me a level 56 onix, When I was right at the start of the game. I liked the idea of GTS and I fulfilled my dex easily using it. When time passed, less people uploaded Pokémon for true trading and it was filled by Pokémon with stupid requirements.

I have never had friends with the game, so I didn't trade or battle with nobody I knew.

I tried to battle in random matchs, but I have never been into playing competitively and it was awful.

I would improve it forbiding nonsense requirements in the GTS.
