Delphox = Red, Yellow, Orange, White and Black
Chesnaught = Cream, Green, White, Brown, Red

Delphox is actually a good ratio of red, yellow and orange parts with a little white fur for detail and black hands/feet. Chesnaught is overly tan, then some green, with the remaining three colors to make up not very much.

Chestnaught is okay.
Delphox is so bad that even a fire/fighting would be more welcomed.
Greninja will be my favourite as soon as I get used to that tongue.

Chesnaught has color issues too.

Delphox's issue is that the colors ARE DULL.
Braixen was bright and eyecatching, while delphox is just drab. There's nothing eye catching about the design.

I agree that the red color making up the majority of the design probably wasn't the best idea and that I like Fennekin's and Braixen's color schemes better, but I still don't think it's "too drab" or anything. I'm sure it'll look just fine in-game.

I agree. Definitely better than Gen 4 and 5 starters.

From what I understand, most Froakie fans that don't like Greninja is because of the tongue scarf. Besides that, there's no complaints.

Fennekin fans seem to have a good amount of people who actually don't like the third stage because they were expecting even bigger Furbait than Braixen. The non-furry fans think it looks to basic or some shit.

Chespin fans...I still have no idea. They call it too big and lanky but this was exactly what the fuck they were describing for months. They even got Grass/Fighting instead of Grass/Dark like they kept whining about. Chespin turned into a hulking brute, just like they wanted, and he now has armor, just like they wanted. The fact that they're complaining disgusts me. They got exactly what they asked for.

At first I wanted to go chespin, then I saw quilladin and pretty much swore off grass starters forever at that point. Braixen looked cute, so I went with that.

Then I saw borefox, so I switched over to Greninja because I think it's a good combo of cute and cool.

I like the red colour mixed with yellow on the ends and orange in areas. They're all warmer colours, which really personifies it as a fire type.

The way people are talking about full colours, it just sounds like these people are saying "Other colours are better than red," which isn't a wrong statement. It is, however, completely subjective and should be regarded as such.

if you don't like torterra, that's fine, but it's beautifully proportioned, a fucking huge tortoise with trees on his back? that's a great combo that actually delivers with sturdy legs, a big fat head, and the pokemon is actually really big.
Now, when it comes to this turd Chesnaught, the legs are ridiculous, the shell even more so, and the huge spikes are just unnecesary. It doesn't look anything like a knight or having a properly proportionated armor. It just sucks.
Also fuck his mummy texture and washed out colors.

I was actually surprised to see many people on this board pleased with the result. I really don't see what anyone could like anything about Chestnaught and the human fox thing, but I don't even care. I was going to pick Chespin, but since its last form sucks I'm thinking of picking Froakie. That design is pretty clever and that face is smooth as fuck.

Probably, but only because gens 4 and 5 had the worst starters in the series. They're not really bad Pokemon, but they are underwhelming for starters.

It doesn't help that they all have really good pre-evolved forms and then go way downhill for the final one.

Look at Chestnaught's armour. It resembles nothing similar to Chespin's second evolution. I think people were expecting something along that line, not such a drastic change. Not only that but I swear I've seen Chesnaught as some generic enemy in final fantasy or something.

Make him straight backed, a helm, and loads of armor, and maybe make it have blades on hinges on its arms
and make the fox mage look more slender, tapering waist, and a more visable wand/broomstick

They're growing on me. It's sort of the same situation as gen 5 for me; at first I hated the starters and then I grew to really like them. I'm pretty sure most of the gripes are from people's expectations/what they had already imagined being completely different from the final design.

That said I still think Greninja needs different legs and a scarf that's not made out of its... tongue, Chesnaught needs different colours and to be less immobile tank-ish and more of a proud knight with a green helmet, and Delphox needs to have a fire staff and a more fluid or interesting pose. I felt like the second evos had a lot of potential all around and they just sort of took a funny turn at the end.

am I the only one who doesn't necessarily HATE any of the Pokemon from any gen?

I mean, I hate the Sinnoh games, like, REALLY fucking hate them, but at most I think that some of the mons from those games are just needlessly forgettable. Gen V even, I only outwardly dislike one line (Vullaby/Mandibuzz).

Gen VI does, admittedly, have some "wtf" designs, and not everything is perfect or needed. So far, I've only been disappointed by Duoblade, but I don't HATE it.

tl;dr: not just sucking it up and enjoying the games.
