I too dropped out of the anime just before Johto started, personally i only really look at episodes now if they're contest ones, ones with interesting characters of the day, meetups or something like Cynthia vs Caitlin.
Though the movies are fairgame, speaking of which...the water theatrics and effects were cool at the Manaphy intro and in general.
