4Kids lost the rights to Pokemon and TPCI started dubbing Pokemon and they got rid of the 4kids voice actors because they were too expensive.

Veronica Taylor and Brock/James VA were super pissed and wanted to continue to voice the characters but TCPI gave them a big fuck you and now the replacement voices are horrible and bland

Only original VA to keep their voice was Gary Oak and he hasn't been around since Diamond and Pearl

4kids actually cared about the series, it was one of the only dubs they did right, then iPC decided to jew out and dub it themselves, where there was a noticeable drop of quality before they got their standing.
Another example of the 4kids actors missing their roles.

animu dubs will sometimes have their vas replaced for whatever reason, mostly due to license acquisitions by different companies.

a niche series i liked had a decent dub but a newer season was acquired by a different company with brand new (shitty) voice actors. i was sad, but i got the fuck over it and looked for subs online.

i don't get why it was so hard for pokemon fans to understand that shit happens and actors get replaced.

4Kids was pretty shitty and ripped off all the companies that it worked with. They've been settling lawsuits relating to Pokemon and Yu Gi Oh as recently as December 2012
