Ishihara: The design for Binacle originally came from one of our newest designers. She was at the beach when she saw an old abandoned boat. The boat was very old and abandoned. It looked so lifeless.

That is when she saw many creatures attached to the side. Barnacles. And she decided there should be a Pokemon like a Barnacle.

But when I first saw the designs I was taken aback. This Pokemon is like a Barnacle but it looks so sad. What if there were more of them?

I told the designer and she immediately came up with a design for Barbaracle. I mean it's just like a human, only it's made of many Pokemon! Barnacles! Isn't that great?
