With Agatha, Jolteon can defeat the Golbats. Red doesn't have a counter for the Gengars and Haunter tho.

Lapras defeat Lances Dragons, Jolteon takes care of Gyardos and Aerodactyl.

Not too hard.

But including Pidgeot or Raticate would definitely lead to maximum nostalgia since they are the first 2 Pokemon people catch and many people kept them in their teams all the way to E4.

He HAS to send out either Jolteon or Persian. Everyone else gets 2HKOd and/or crippled by Thunderwave. Once Persian is out of the way, Jolteon will follow. His best bet really is to switch in Lapras since it gets 4HKOd by Thunderbolt at most, but unless its has Rest it's not a game it can keep up forever.
Chansey is on every gen 1 team exactly because Thunderwave fucks everything up and it's the best option to take it.

Ugh... He cannot let Jolteon stay in forever. You know way? Jolteon is useless against a lot of Pokemon. Such as Rhydon. If Starmie is facing a Jolteon, it is obviously going to switch out. Sooner or later Red will have to bring something on the field that Starmie can safely switch into. Then Starmie uses Thunderwave on the switch.

No, they aren't. Gen 1 contains a glitch that makes ghost moves do 0 damage against psychic types. They didn't even bother to fix it in Yellow.

Because the only Ghost type move that didn't do flat damage was Lick.

I haven't watch Origins but damn I half-expected that since I always did that in my Red and Blue playthroughs. So by end game I always had Pikachu and my starter as the ultimate bros.
Guess they made a conscious decision to not include Pikachu in his team.

I had Venusaur, Cloyster, Haunter, Machoke, Kadabra and Graveler. I even remember Venusaur's move set: Cut, Razor Leaf, Swords Dance, Body Slam. This was before I knew about trade evolution, so I could not figure out why they wouldn't evolve!
