I prefer Kalos dex with just 100 species but all new pokemon to over 450 species with just 70 new pokemon.

I don't count mega things in mind because they just look like transformations of old pokemons to me.

Charizard could easily beat Venusaur before Venusaur could use Earthquake, and why would you even have a Charizard out when Blastoise entered?

Samefagging, forget to mention as Mega Charizard X you could also use a no-STAB but super effective flying move on Venusar, depending on which one does more damage. I'm just trying to say there are plenty of strategies if you happen to get caught in that particular situation.

Problem, it's most likely that the sweeper mega evolutions are going to be outclassed by normal pokemon.

It's going to be the niche pokemon like Charizard Y who'll come out on top.

I don't even know if Mega Venasaur is going to be any better than normal chlorophyll venasaur. Unless the base stats are disgustingly OP, he'll get outclassed by the usual OU walls.

Yeah some of them are shaping up to be really terrible in compared to their normal versions/normal versions of other pokemon. We'll just wait to see how it folds out when we get the game.

Charizard X and Y will probably be like Mega Lucario.

Charizard X has an ability to boost almost all it's physical moves + increased Attack + unresisted STAB combination. Also probably more Speed.

Charizard Y has more Speed, more SAtk and, most importantly, Drought, that is better then Life Orb for Fire moves.

Mega Venusaur, Mega Blastoise and Mega Blaziken will probably be shit.

Useless trait, not going to get Dark Pulse for anti-spinners. Insufficient SAtk to compensate the lack of item, insufficient SDef to compensate the lack of Leftovers.

Also Rain Dish is way better for a spinner.
Not that you need a spinner for dual battles, that is the only metagame now.

Charizard Y and Lucario are looking like the only decent Megas so far.

Charizard X might be too depending on how significant the attack increase is and how much Tough Claws boosts (if it's like 1.5x then it could be a massive threat with Dragon Dance.)

MCharizard X is already superior to Charizard for the typing and possibly the Speed.
MCharizard Y is already superior for Drought (maybe not as good as an overall boost like Life Orb, but the Sun is useful for a team, plus has increased SAtk and Speed).

I agree on the rest. MCharizardXY and MLucario are til now the only decent megas.

Still hoping for Mega Mawile and Mega Absol for their useful traits.

Mega Aerodactyl, Blastoise and Venusaur already confirmed to be shittier then their normal formes.
Mega Blaziken probably going to suck too.

Megazard X is gonna be a beast if it can get the chance to set up

Zard's physical movepool has always been better than it's special one, so I welcome a physical oriented Charizard with open arms

Plus Fire/Dragon's a fucking deadly dual-STAB coverage, just look at mons like Reshiram if you want evidence of that
