New typing, new moves, Mega evos, and the fact that everything is in a full 3d environment, make your argument invalid. The only thing that's the same is that you still catch Pokemon and train them to battle, everything around this has changed.

Not really, the only game to present a "huge graphical leap forward" besides Gen VI was Gen III. (and this is coming from someone who hates gen III) Take out the "graphical" part out and you'd be right though.

Keep in mind we are playing a game for young ones. The standard trainer AI has always been bad on purpose, while the Champion/Gym leaders would have jacked up AI.

From introducing it in a direct, to more information coming from Iwata's mouth than Matsuda, to the extremely short dev time, its clear that this game was forced by nintendo to sell the 3DS.

This will be remembered as the worst gen. Hopefully, tey'll learn from this failure.
