i never understood why all these Ladies,Girls,Teenager,Bikers etc. dont have a classic region starter. i mean, everyone in the pokemonworld starts their adventure by picking a starter, right?

Honestly, there really isn't any explanation. A few probably just caught a caterpie or something and moved on from there.
I know some trainers say their parents gave them a pokemon, and if you can buy a magikarp, I imagine you can probably buy a pidgey or something.

Not everyone starts with some fancy professor just handing you a pokemon. You come from rich family with connections (you're mom fucks the professor lol) so you get a nice starter.

This is... kind of right.
The starter pokemon are referred to as 'rare' in most of the games, and you only get one because you happen to live in a tiny town with some professor.
Considering 2 of the starters get taken at the beginning of each game, that doesn't leave many for every bug catcher and schoolboy.

I don't understand why people assume that EVERY trainer in the region get the fire/water/grass starters(I blame the anime). But as far as I know, prof Oak only gives the starters and a pokedex to Red and Blue, not anyone else. Same with every other region professor

Most people get Pokemon that live around where they live, which is why kids who live near Viridian Forest start with Caterpie and Weedles. If the Professor who lived in your town didn't happen to have rare Pokemon you'd start with Rattatas or Zigzagoons.

Just remember Wally from RSE. Borrowed a pokemon to catch his own Ralts and that was it. I guess most people are being given a pokemon by their friends/family.

What I never understood is why every game starts by pressuring you to "Fill the pokedex", but ends with "Beat the Elite Four and become the champion", with the pokedex mission being kind of forgotten.

Pokedex is the catalyst for the journey a lot of the time, but then they start encouraging you to go to the Elite Four. Realistically, the E4 can be reached in less than a year's time in game, while it'd probably take decades to complete the dex.

Ultimately you just happen to live near the professor when you start your journey. The reason the player character gets a starter from a professor is different in each game. (Red & Blue are childhood friends, Birch & Norman know eachother, Rowan likes PC and Barry for some reason, and I think in gen5 they're a present of some kind?)

I get that, it makes sense.

But Game Design-wise, you're sent on a quest and you just decide at some point to put that on hold and become the Champion. And the fucking Credits Roll comes after beating the Elite Four, not completing the Dex.

I prefer the way Gen 2 started. Prof Elm gives you a Pokemon so you can do errands and get started in the Pokemon World, and eventually (not much later, but still), prof Oak decides you look dependable and gets you a Pokedex. It was never your primary mission to fill the Pokedex.

I think the professors just figure that if you're going to go around adventuring, giving you a Pokedex won't hurt. It's just going to make their job easier, they can sit in a lab all day while you gather data for them free.
Hell, I don't know about the Pokemon prices, but sounds more like the professors are just using you.

Because people catch other pokemon in the wild. Squirtle, Bulbasaur, Charmander, Pikachu and Eevee are only given to the trainers who start at Pallet town. They're raised in Oak's lab, so he gives them out. Except Pikachu, the pikachu was apeshit and ran towards Pallet from Viridian forrest.

Gen I - Oak is friends with your mom, and you were friends with his grandson. He decided to give you one of the three Pokemon he had left.

Gen II - Elm is short handed and wants you to go get an egg so he gives you a Pokemon and your rival steals one.

Gen III - You're the child of a gym leader who is friends with the professor. He hooks you up with a Pokemon.

Gen IV - Technically you stole the Pokemon in DP, but Platinum retconned it to begging Rowan for a Pokemon

Gen V - in both cases your mom was friends with Juniper and got one that way.

Gen VI from what I understand, you don't even get a Pokemon from the regional professor until you've already started your journey and your friend gave it to you.

Everybody else has to pick from whatever is local to the region. Some probably meet a Pokemon in tall grass that is friendly and catch it that way, others probably pay other trainers to catch them something.

Assuming you are a character in the anime. Let's say you sent out Pikachu and the opponent sent Sandshrew. Then you quickly switch Pikachu with Squirtle. The logical thing to do for other trainer is to switch Sandshrew with, for example Bulbasaur, but then the fight don't make sense because of the constantly rotated Pokemon. I don't know if I explained the situation correctly but I am very frustrated by this.

that's not how it works. Only the anime tried to establish that. In every game you get your starter from a local professor simply by circumstance/coincidence. Presumably other kids have their first pokemon given to them by a parent, a friend, or go out and wrestle it into submission themselves.

Yeah I think you're actually right with the dogs, but I'm pretty sure goats were the first animals domesticated for the purpose of food.
Horse came later.
Also fun fact: One of the reasons why Africa didn't develop in the same way as Europe did was because they didn't have animals that could be domesticated.

I always thought both trainers throw out their balls at the same time. Then they fight and whenever one gets low first he has the right to switch without looking like a faggot. So I guess you get a switch to save your Pokemon for later if you hit red or yellow. IIRC there was one bitch in AG that switched two attacks into the battle because she had a type disadvantage and the announcer sucked her dick for it. It's probably based on if you can play off your switch without looking like a switching fag.

I don't quite understand what your problem is. Eventually someone has to fight otherwise nothing happens other than you juggling pokeballs. I mean for example what kept people from changing pokemon constantly in the games (asside from sneaky stalagmites)? You'd lose a turn and the enemy gets a free attack.

You can just assume in the anime that when someone changes pokemon they'd be at a small disadvantage because their pokemon is caught off guard when it's sent out or the enemy has time to catch their breath or ready themselvess. That kind of thing.

As for specific rules, official battles are sometimes mentioned to disallow switching so there's that.
