With all those flaws about lack of postgame, extremely low level of challenge, less new pokémon than ever, boring implementation of amie and super training, occasional framerate issues, excessive linearity even compared to previous pokémon games, a story so bad everyone complains about it even though nobody expects anything from a pokémon game plot and so on, I think they overrated it with 9.0. Sounds more like 6.5-7.0.

I've read about 10 different reviews so far. IGN's review is the worst one so far, like they have barely played the game. But that's irrelevant, what I'm saying is that the score reflects the game itself poorly (and that the author of the IGN article is a poor writer and critic)

The whole Z overhaul will probably be the real deal and I consider these two a test run on the new system.

Just ignore the score for a second and read the review.
It is absolute fucking trash and I'm left wondering who the fuck this dude is and why anyone would let him write it. Even though it's a review, he barely voices his own opinion on the game, he just lists off some features we already knew about and says the equivalent of "yeah they're cool". The only glaringly negative things he says is that the NPC trainers are dumb and the story is simple. He doesn't mention how the visuals hold up beyond "great art direction" (how detailed does he think they are? Framerate issues, yes/no?) what about the scope of the game, the environments? NO MENTION ABOUT THE MUSIC? He is either too dumb to form an opinion and express it or cannot because he didn't play the game.
