As it seems, no pokemon from the previous generations will evolve in this gen
But if you could choose a pokemon that will evolve so this generation, who would you choose?

not pinsir. I know that it has had no love in the evolution/babby/megaevolution sense, but just keep updating its stats and moveset, keep it a rock on which we can rely, unchanging and uncompromising in the face of any advancement, good or bad.

When I was younger I always considered him to be Scyther's Rival Pokemon. I know it's probably silly. I thought just like Seviper and Zangoose were rivals, so were Scyther and Pinsir. So when Scizor came out, and Pinsir got nothing I was a tad annoyed. I think he should get an evo. Not bug/steel though.

I thought this too, given that they were both version exclusives in Gen 1 and found in the same area, not to mention being both bugs.

I'm a little sad that Pinsir has gotten no love, I like his design better than Scyther.

Pinsir's evo should be bug/dark even though he has a lot of fighting moves since we already have heracross for bug/fight. It also kinda matches up with Scizor since it's the other new gen 2 type. He should ditch some of the useless defense he has in exchange for speed, the opposite of Scyther which loses speed in exchange for bulk.

I always looked at it as them swapping his rival.

When Scyther evolved into Scizor, Pinsir decided to compete with Heracross, which made far more sense, seeing as they're both beetles and that's the whole thing in Japan with dem fighting beetles.

On topic, I want a Golduck evolution or Mega. For no actual reason other than having Psyduck eventually become something insane instead of just a lanky blue duck man.

I had made a Bug/Dark evo for Pinsir a couple of years ago by splicing pokes together in paint. Looks shit now that i look back on it. But i always wanted Pinsir to get a bug/dark evo to counterpart Scizor.
