Lugia's strong association with Water > Ho-oh's Fire type.

Kyogre > Groudon lol

Dialga's Steel negates its Dragon weakness > Palkia takes 2x damage from button

And 2 turns of Button from Zekrom > 2 turns of Dragon Pulse or Draco Meteor from Reshiram.

That typing makes Xerneas > Yveltal should have been obvious from the start, honestly. And in the end, blue's advantage over red hasn't always carried through to the meta. No one was seriously debating dropping Ho-oh to OU before it got its hidden ability. Palkia, Reshiram, and Kyurem-W are all much better than their opposites because of Weather and coverage. Sure, they don't burn through the face on the other cover, but they polish off everyone else just fine.

Ubers is bloated with Psychic types, and Giratina is one of the best defensive Pokemon in the tier. Yveltal's likely higher offenses mean that it'll probably have an easier time taking down the Lugias and Deoxys-Ds it's supposed to destroy than the more defensively oriented Xerneas will in stopping the horde of hideously high-powered Dragons it's going to need to answer to.

Carbink, Dedenne, and Klefki aren't included in that list, but it's still pretty impressive.

Yveltal also has two immunities, to give it some semblance of defensive legitimacy.

Seriously I don't know how anyone can honestly believe it's not going to be Uber. Dark/Flying gets better coverage than mono-Fairy, even in the dragon's den that is Ubers. If it's because its stats look like vanilla Kyurem's, they're forgetting that Kyurem had redundant STABs and no immunities.

LOL no. Only Kyurem-B ended up in OU and most people who are good at the game want him banned again. BST is high enough that it will be good regardless of typing unless it has an ability like Regigigas or Slaking.
