Odd numbered gens: Clean slate, lots of new lines

Even numbered gens: Refining the last clean slate, making balance adjustments, adding evolutions, adding new types, adding new mechanics, ect.

I really fucking hate how little fire types they introduce every fucking gen. Even with how little ground, bug, and poisons types they introduced there are still fewer fire types in total, and that is only with the mandatory fire types they have to introduce as starters

Who cares about Fire pokemon? It is an awful type.

It was only a "problem" in Shinnoh because they decided to have a Fire Elite Four member.

Honestly, its a little disappointing in a way.
But the way I look at this gen is that Nintendo finally released a pokemon game on the perfect platform.

I see it as more of a unified/bug fixed game, really.
A patch on the entire series.
Balancing the fuckload of dragon pokemon, and making use of all the useless bug and poison pokemon.

So long as its easy to move ALL of my shit to the one cartridge, I am totally okay with this.

Plus megas bringing in legendary tier meta to being useful.

With this being on the 3DS, with street pass and spotpass and all that crap, I've got the feeling there will be in game updates like events, and all that crap.

Theres a lot that can be done with the 3DS that no one bothered with on the DS.
