Should I go straight to black and white? I don't want to play the other games and be exhausted of them by the time I get to black and white

Are they different enough that I should play through them all?

I'd start with Fire red/leaf green if you were a big fan of RBY. If not, Platinum > BW > BW2. BW2 has a good amount of post game content, BW doesn't. It's different enough from BW that I'd suggest just skipping over BW unless you really want to learn about the story.

Does BW2 not have a different story? I heard it continued the first ones story

G/S remakes are awesome. Level scale isn't the best but they're still great. Hard to find a working emulator but I have a working one that I could probably Mediafire for you if you want.
BW2 do continue the story of Black and White, I played BW2 first though and it didn't really affect me since they pretty much explain the whole story to you. Also BW2 have A LOT more pokemon from previous gens in it. ALSO if the designs of the new pokemon bother you at first, you should still try to give them a chance. I picked up an emulator of Black, played for like five minutes and had a nostalgia hissyfit, then a few months later I went out and bought White 2, and now gen 5 is my favorite gen alongside 3.

I honestly burned out of HGSS. They're good games but theirs not enough EXP from trainer battles to make a decent team of 6 mons. You could probably run a team of 4 at best with decent levels. Wild pokemon were also underwhelming since you see weak johto mons everywhere and they dont even offer you decent EXP.

If you don't mind that then these games are fine. you mentioned you just didnt want to be exhausted by BW, and HGSS is pretty exhausting imo.
