Is there any reason to dislike this pokemon other than >muh manticore ?

It looks fucking stupid. I hate these hyper angular/geometric designs, there is no goddamn reason it should look like paper mache or that it's patterns have to be perfectly solid lines. Even Pidgeot's hair is at least separated at the ends.

I can already see the anime episode with these Pokémon: Ash and the gang come across a poor hurt Litleo all by himself, they take care of him and shit but then a mad as fuck Pyroar comes out of nowhere and attack them, Ash battles with it and beats the shit out of it, then as he's about to deal the final strike the Litleo intervenes. TURNS OUT IT WAS ITS MOTHER/FATHER (Holy shit, bet you didn't see that coming), after that they become friends and Ash and his group say goodbye to those fuckers as they leave into the sunset.

I swear Pokemon has become a parody of itself. Instead of just drawing a fucking lion with a fiery mane, they create this fucking plastic clown colored shit with painted-on faces and geometric bodies. They just don't look fucking natural.

Why do these artists seem to think this is "Sugimori style?" And why the fuck is he approving this? His old animals looked organic, now they look like fucking toys.

Pic illustrates the difference. It makes sense for Darmanitan since he's a doll, but otherwise it looks like fuck.

So I can't expect a monster from a game I've played since childhood, a decade and a half ago, to be half decent and badass, something digimon have had since day 1, without being 15 or from reddit? Is that too much to ask? I get that its a franchise aimed mostly at kids, but, digimon was the same thing and they still had badass looking things. Nintendo/Gamefreak don't really seem to care about their original audiences anymore, everything's kiddified. I guess I'm just starting to grow sick of things like icecream pokemon when there could be mons that are truly awesome. meh.
