We haven't heard about any beyond Xerneas and Yveltal, so there's probably thankfully going to be much less than in Gen IV and V

Gamefreak hasn't even hinted at anything beyond Sylveon, while cross-gen evos like Pichu and Munchlax were heavily promoted. They've been replaced by Mega Evolutions this Gen. If there was going to be normal cross-Gen evolutions, Mawile of all Pokemon certainly would have gotten one instead of a Mega Evolution which has otherwise been given only to already powerful Pokemon.

All that said the number is probably closer to 80 rather than 70.

I'm guessing this is probably true. Maybe there's a few Pokemon we're missing, but we have most of them. Add in the even Pokemon that you can't catch anywhere else, and close to 80 is your best bet. Still, the 70 new Pokemon estimate wasn't wrong.

Everything we've seen is in line with approximately 70 pokemon, perhaps a couple more, and little postgame (though a couple reviews mentioned some postgame).

If the number of actual new Pokemon ends up being 78, the leaker still ends up being right. The leaker never said that there were exactly 70 new Pokemon only. He estimated that number using the Pokedex number for Xerneas, which he couldn't remember off the top of his head. Plus it's hard to determine the number of event Pokemon. The point is, gen 6 will have the least amount of Pokemon, and doesn't even have evolutions of previous pokemon/preevos to inflate that number.

He leaked neither Greninja nor Hawlucha. Both of those came from reddit. He copied the images and claimed that he took them himself.

Regardless of your attempt to pre-empt the starter typing issue, he also made it clear that he believed Greninja to be water/fighting.

No, it was correct initially.

He also describe Chesnaught (without name) as a "fucked up Machoke with a hunchback" and Delphox (without name) as "like the second evo but in a dress". While I'm not sure why he picked Machoke, both accounts were not inaccurate.

The Pokemon are the core of the game. If I wanted to make a party of older Pokemon I'd just play Black and White or BW2 again.

The new features look awesome, but if the lack of postgame is true, that means there's hardly anything to do after I beat it. I would really like to think that with a Pokemon game I'm not just cruising through a hefty 30 hour adventure and then being out of options.

He also posted the very first shots of Hawlucha and Greninja. Read the thread and the first few replies are basically "you had me until "Hawlucha", wtf".

It doesn't matter if the main game is longer or bulkier: when it's over, it's over. Ideally in a game as complex as Pokemon, you're not just left stranded in an overworld stripped of all new events or areas to explore. We're not in the Red/Blue days any more.

The game is meant to be a parallel of gold and silver after bw's parallel of gen 1. Of course there will be fewer 'new' pokemon. However this time there are megas as well as the 'new' pokemon and these have version exclusives so there's going to be a metric shit ton of new pokemon if you include these.

More confirmed gen II parallels include the introduction of a new pokemon type and visiting the previous region post game.

No leaks of the E4 or champ suggests that no leaker has yet made it that far, we don't even know the E4 typing yet or even it's location beyond guessing that it is probably that castle in the mountains.

And he didn't confirm any of the others? Sounds like bullshit to me, but did he post screenshots of this?

You could easily predict the E4 types based on what we know aleady on the gym types from the badge shillouettes and seeing as none of the badges could be water type it's a no brainer that there would probably be a Water type E4 member.

If I could guess at the E4 I'd say Water, Fire, Ground and Dragon this time. And the Champ will be that 'actress' they gave more attention to on the XY website then her known role in the game would merit.

We can all be 'leakers' now.

If no screenshot exists then I'll just have to assume that she might well have been leaking but hasn't got to the E4 yet and just made an educated guess at water in the hope of being declared the first person to complete XY.
