BW2 was great for building a strong team early. Here's my Black 2 team, which admittedly has a fair amount in common with yours.

Nice, not often that I see Weezing. But yea, I agree Black and White 2 really were one of the best when it comes to Strong pokemon available early on.

Somewhere along the line of playing pokemon all my life an autism switch got flipped and now I have to plan out my team of pokemon before I play the game. I don't like finding something and training it only to dump it for something stronger down the line

That's exactly how I feel. I couldn't replay Soul silver because I like to plan my team or else I won't be satisfied. My problem was that in Johto, there really were no Pokemon that you can catch early on that actually become useful besides the few that I've used before. You didn't really have a wide variety of Pokemon for most of the game.

Do you think The game was easier with Emboar or Serperior?

White 2 with Emboar was beyond ezmode. I've only played through it once though.
I played Black and White with Serperior and Samurott respectively and it wasn't very hard either way.

HGSS has that problem I've noticed. That and it didn't fix the atrocious level plateau between the 4th and 8th gyms.

The problem is that when you give people Lucario, Magnezone, and Arcanine all early, their teams are gonna end up being fairly similar because who would not use those?

Slaking was originally gonna be a Jolteon with Hidden Power Ice for speed and coverage, but after breeding 60-70 Eevees to no avail, I resigned myself to one of my all-time favorites.
