I'm getting Y because most of my friends are getting X and I really like Yveltal.

Pre-ordered a while ago. Primarily I like Yveltal.

At the time I liked Spritzee more than I liked Swirlix. I still do, but now that I've seen Aromatisse, the preference isn't as strong.

I was conflicted about Clauncher versus Skrelp. Really love both of their designs. I figure it won't be hard to trade one via wireless though, it seems like a common request.

Since I preordered, The Mega differences in M-Mewtwo and M-Charizard have been revealed. I do prefer both Y Megas, so that's a plus. I'm neutral on the Mega concept altogether, though.

Thus far there haven't been many version exclusives revealed, to be honest. Beyond the legendaries it's not that steep of a version difference yet.

Gible has been spotted, I think. They're definitely in the Kalos regional Pokedex (not sure whether Central, Coastal, or Mountain) and they could just have been owned by trainers. Not completely sure.

-I don't plan to legends, so Mewtwo and Yveltal don't really matter (although for the record Mewtwo Y > X and Xerneas > Yveltal).
-Also not planning on choosing Zard, or using either exclusive fairy.
-Both water exclusives look great, but Skrelp's evo is just fantastic, planing on using it for sure, I just hope it ends up being a dragon type.

I bought a used 3DS from Amazon. It should be here by tuesday of next week. That way i'll have two 3DS to trade with.

I Have X preordered at Gamestop. They're not doing a midnight launch so i'm going to Wal-Mart to get Y.

I'll play Y, soft reset until I get a female chespin and play for at least a few hours before bed, but I at least want to get to the breeding center (or far enough to be able to trade). I'll breed my chespin and make an egg with it. Then the following day I'll pick up my X version from Gamestop, pick froakie as my starter (female of course) then trade the chespin egg to X then delete my save file in Y and restart it but choose fenniken

This way i'll have all three starters. I was thinking of doing a shiny quest where I'd get at least one shiny before each gym, but that would take too long so i'll just play the game with no repels and not enter the E4 until I get at least 1 shiny per game.

But I've played pokemon like this since gen IV. I've always imported the Japanese version of one then bought the US version of the other. That way I have Japanese dittos, and i'm never missing a pokemon that I want to raise because its a "version exclusive"

Sure I could just trade for it, but its not the same as finding it in the grass.

Pic related. Its a pokemon that is unusually rare in the newer games and even with all the games that I have I didn't have one. I actually had to go back to my Ruby game to get one and transfer it all the way to gen 5

I got Blue, Silver, Sapphire, Leaf Green, Pearl, Soul Silver, And Black version which was the only exception. I'm getting Y, and that's mainly for Yveltal and Skrelp, and Charizard Y.

the only time that paired versions have been canon is Gen I (because Yellow was a spinoff and the games had no box legendary) and Gen V, because instead of a third version we got paired sequels.
