What do you think about Clawitzer's design? I think it's great.

It's not just the his arm that gets bigger, he has different facial features too.

It didn't get small, it stayed the same size, maybe a little bigger, but the claw is the main thing that evolved.

That's what happens to pistol shrimps, the abnormal claw gets larger as they get older

I think it may take time for people to adjust, and I can see people complaining that some of the new guys "don't look like Pokemon:, but I think it's cool that they can play with proportions in 3D space, now. With sprites, this wouldn't really have worked, and Delphox and Aurorus would not be as tall, for example.

I like how it opens up more options, at least.

How does it crawl though? Its body structure is more of a shrimp than a lobster like the actual pistol shrimp too. And shrimp just scurry which is possible because it's fucking light but the claw would just hinder it completely.

I think the problem with some pokemon is that it needs the fire aspect. So you need to see some red or a blaze outline on the actual pokemon itself. As far as I remember there's no pokemon like that, but it hardly excuses this. I wouldn't mind some flame outlines on the claw if it meant it would get a fire type

Name: Clawitzer
The moment I saw that name, I smiled. Perfect, just perfect.

Color:
Blue, yellow, and black are a good color combination. Especially in the proportions and manner used on Clawitzer.

Body style:
Perfect for a pistol shrimp pokemon themed after guns., and a logical progression from Clauncher.

Execution of concept:
A howitzer is a piece of artillery, a big ass fucking gun. Clawitzer's claw is not only said cannon, he looks like the personnel you'd see manning one (he even has a helmet).

Stats:
Smogon gave us this after we saw its stats yesterday:
70/70/100/130/100/55. Fits perfectly for a pokemon themed on artillery.

Ability:
Mega Launcher? We're still waiting to see what kind of boost it grants. If it's like Technician it powers up Dark Pulse to 120, Dragon pulse to 130, Water Pulse to 120 (after STAB), and Aura Sphere to 135.

All in all, awesome.

I KNOW I will get hate for that but it's just too big. I think they could make it half the size it is and it would still be intimidating. It just looks cumbersome

Bulky waters are a pretty shit niche. I don't know how this thing is going to survive considering Gen V's emphasis on sweepers, unless they nerf this hard. In all honesty only it's movepool can save itself now

considering Zar's clawitzer only had water type moves, I don't think it will have much access to good moves. But then again she was using a level 37 against a level 63 so it's possible it was just there for some reason.

It'll have access to good moves. The only two things a water type needs is a strong water move and Ice Beam.

Mega Launcher means it'll have access to the pulse moves and aura. It also means there may be more of those moves being added in Gen VI.

Statistically, they're awesome and part of the reason why Water is so dominant. Good type (Water) + Good typing = fun times.

Water has it made. It doesn't take much for them to reach competence.

Water by itself is one of the best typings in the game offensively and defensively. It's a powerful Special Attacker that can also take hits, which makes up for its poor Speed (which also makes it a great option on Trick Room teams). Given that it's based on a cannon like Octillery and its ability, I'm sure it'll have a pretty broad movepool.

It does. Clawitzer's base stats are 70/70/100/130/100/55.

He has defenses as high as Mega Blastoise, SpAtk that's as high as Mega Blastoise, and his item slot is open so he can do more things.

Also, like someone said, he's probably going to get things Blastoise doesn't.

Mega Blastoise will probably have a better overall BST but Clawitzer is much more specialized for the role and will definitely have a better movepool to take advantage of Mega Launcher.
