I love it. I always use sword/shield in games when given the option. RPGs generally, in Monster Hunter, I even use the sword/shield skeleton in Skylanders (no, i'm not underage, just a shamelessly open-minded manchild).

I was really disappointed that Doublade was two swords, so this is back on track for me. It will absolutely be my #1 slot pokemon.

I like it and don't. I like the whole ghost sword thing, I like that it wields itself or whatever, but I don't like that the ornate sheath was removed to leave a pretty plain looking sword that doesn't resemble its previous forms.

Steelix, if we're going off of steel types, has five weaknesses.
Jellicent has four.

Likewise, No Guard doesn't erase type immunity, so it only has 4 weakness, and this would be the first major defensive wall since goddamn gen 2 that didn't host a quad weakness to something.

Design wise I think i'ts one of the best Pokemon Game Freak made for Gen VI.

Regarding its typing, well weak to Fire and Ground isn't really a good thing, but well it's Steel/Ghost is unique so it's fine with me.
I'll probably use him in-game, I'm not into competitive anyway.

Being weak to fire isn't a big deal. Nearly ever wall is weak to fire, it's all ready something accounted for in most teams. Heck, run him in the rain and fire weakness is gone.

Ground is a bigger issue, but earthquake is a free swap in to your dragonite or gyarados to start setting up Dragon Dances or whatever.

It really isn't bad at all. Steel/Ghost is amazing defensive typing. even if it keeps noguard. 100% accurate will-o-wisps ftw.

There was really no need for Doublade in the evo line (one sword, gains another sword, loses second sword to form this guy. What exactly was the point GF?), but Aegislash is streamlined and brilliant.

Would've been nice if Doublade's spot in the pokédex had been used for something else though. Dragon Eeveelution tbh.

I just dislike that the decorative ribbons no longer sprout from the pommel. It's hard for me to imagine this thing in a cool pose actually using itself like a sword, to slash. It seems probable that one of the ribbons would get in the way half the time. Then again, I'm sort of looking at this from the perspective of an illustrator.

These are my feelings exactly, except the part about Eviolite Doublade which I don't care about because thank god I'm not forced to use it. If someone else actually likes it good for them, but personally it almost ruined the Honedge line for me.

After seeing Honedge, I was expecting a knight Pokemon.
After seeing it become Doublade, I figured they were just going to go with the "Add more to it" effect like with Klink, Icecreamon, and Dougtrio. Which I would have been fine with because might as well make an absurd idea more absurd. I was hoping they made it crazy to the point it just became a wheel of swords or a ghostly eye surrounded by blades!

I got a bigger sword with a shield instead. Kind of let down..

The question is if the second form has an extremely high Attack stat, will it have potential as a sweeper/revenge killer? I mean, theoretically it could have Sp. Attack and use STAB Flash Cannon + Ghost Ball, but neither type has really powerful attacks and the upper-end Steel physical moves have no distribution and/or are inaccurate as fuck.

I was already thinking about having Doublade on my team, but this pretty much sealed it for me. I absolutely love the concept, and unlike a lot of the other Gen VI Pokemon I've seen they actually managed to execute it flawlessly.

I like it because it's a logical evolution.

After Doublade grows strong enough, the spirits from both swords merge, cause the scabbards to merge with little shield that was forming, while the swords combine into a single great sword.

Doublade should have been a sword-and-dagger with Honedge as the dagger. Could have even had the same transformative ability, but "Parry" stance and whatever.
That would lead into this a lot better than just "two identical swords that both look the same as Honedge".
Also, I maintain that Honedge should have its idle animation be a sheathed sword, and it should only unsheathe itself during attack animations. The blade on Honedge is totally boring and it would make it look a lot more dynamic. Now its attack animation is just "spin the already unsheathed sword unimpressively".

As for this, I don't like the shield design, but at least the sword now has some actual character to it.

Overall: 5/10 for the whole evolutionary line. Probably will be middle-UU.

I like it except for the hilt. The pointed grip just looks weird, and the eye looks a lot less menacing, and more robotic; less thoughtful than the previous evos.
