But EXP Share is the best thing to happen in the game.

You're actually being encouraged to bring a full team now, unlike the previous games where it was better to just focus all the exp to a couple pokemon (if not just one). 100% exp on the participating pokemon is great, not sure about what the value is on the rest of the team.

I could understand the attraction before Black and White, when it was legitimately a pain to maintain a team at a consistent level, but with the EXP tweaks they did in Gen V, having a consistent team is trivially easy. Grinding has nothing to do with it.

I'll definitely be using it if I want to go back and catch something that's underleveled, and to train for the possible 2nd round of the Elite Four where there's usually a big jump in levels.

Otherwise I'll turn it off so that I'm not just curbstomping every battle.

Pokemon in the battle will get full EXP.
The rest will receive half of the EXP.

Like say Your Pokemon got 5000 EXP.
The rest will get 2500 EXP

Oh, no, I don't like to be overleveled. Overleveling does take the fun out of it in my opinion.

I just like my Pokemon to be on par with each other, so I'll be using it to keep them all up to speed. Since I'll be using a ton of different Pokemon, the new system rocks for me. lol

That sounds really good actually. You're encouraged to use a full team without handicapping yourself, since playing with one pokemon was the most optimal in previous games (not sure about GenV, I skipped that).

I think the presence of the exp share will encourage me to keep a full team, which will leave me inclined to fight trainers and gym leaders more at and under level.

This will in turn make the game probably harder overall, simply making the grinding less tedious.

What if... Everyone in your party gets 30% xp. including your active? You'd still get xp advantage with full party (but capped at 80% bonus), and your entire party would stay evenly leveled. Maybe they'll nerf it with an update?

I just hope the postgame has some challenge to it.

What I'm wondering if the game is balanced around leaving EXP share on. Supposedly the average level of pokemon encountered rises much more quickly this gen, so will you end up being left behind in levels if you don't use the EXP share setting?
