Obviously they all have the 'fingers' because they didn't want to change what the original barnacles looked like. Those aren't even really hands, the only one that is hand-like is the head, which is clearly shaped like a head.

Barnuckle sounds too much like a Fighting-type anyway. If it had really big barnacle-hands curled into fists? Yes, I can picture what you're saying. But the amalgamation of the Pokemon into one big Pokemon is the focus here, not the hand motif.

The only legit bad names are Talonflame, Scatterbug and maybe Greninja. The rest are fine and expected for GF, though we usually got some clever ones that weren't just portmanteaus, which hasn't been the case this time.

Magneton was made of three eyeballs, but it didn't have an 'eye motif'. You're focusing on it too much.

This still pisses me off.
Inflame has a stress on the first syllable. This is really fucking important in English because it's one of the 7 stress-timed languages.
Staraptor works because the stress is right.
Talonflame does not.
In the end, it's just something a child would come up with that has literally nothing clever about it at all. There is no reason to defend that garbage.

Doublade is fine as long as it's pronounced doo-blade, as in Doublet.
Aegislash is just lazy. It'd probably be difficult to find a good name for it, but sticking two words that happen to share a letter at opposite ends together doesn't make for a "great name".
