Generation four was Pokemon at it's graphical peak, it was the perfect blend of 2D and 3D.

Prove me wrong

Gen 4 looked (and still looks) like shit.

The sprites a over twice the size of gen 3, but no more detailed, and on a screen where the resolution is only slightly larger. There are only 3 frames of animation (effectively less for most animations thanks to reusing idle sprites or mirroring a sprite and using it twice for up/down movement).

As though these weren't bad enough on their own, the game runs at 30 FPS, which with the large size, makes the crappy animations piss easy to see.

Gen 6 is the best looking gen, Gold/Silver is the game that looks the best for its hardware. Gen 4 is the worst looking gen (even worse than the Japanese Red/Green.)
