>>14266918Seriously how the fuck is this any different from any thread that has some people being derailed?
If they all got deleted the moment someone got kicked by the ADHD then we'd have no 4chan
It's not even a big or particularly special thread.
Shutting down any random thread that gets some derailment yes is pretty fucking bullshit
The way things work here is that some random derailed threads get deleted, but most don't, because the point is never about any particular thread, it's about the boards as a whole
If a board gets many obviously oftopic threads and none of them are deleted, then it becomes a /b/
But if every post or thread was routinely reviewed by mods and every rule was enforced, then 4chan would stop being 4chan. The threads that can go offtopic often go back on topic, if threads derailed were deleted on sight then trolls would derail them even more and if such strong moderation happened then the schilling effect on some people's behavior would be massive, while other people would become even worse trolls.
There's a balance in some light moderation. It's how it works, take it or leave it.
This thread could be deleted, or it could not, either way it won't matter in the grand scheme of things.
Often mods do shut down derailed threads when they see them but not all derailed threads are deleted because there aren't so many mods.
So for all intents and purposes moderation is random, it's how it remains light. That's the balance of our status quo. Period.
