What type combinations are you guys hoping for? There were a couple of neat ideas floating around before, like a Fighting/Fairy Minotaur and a Dark/Fairy Goblin.

Don't get me wrong, I love the Fairy type, but it was so annoying when people tried to justify it by sayind "b-but fairies can be manly too! yeah, like ogres and s-stuff!" as if there was something wrong with a type that is meant to appeal to people who LIKE girly stuff.

Anyway, I was hoping Aromatisse would be Fairy/Poison, with the purple and the perfume/smell thing.

Gardevoir reminds a bit of a light-elf too (at least in my impression). Its egg group suggests that it's some kind of floating spirit, more like Gengar than an actual humanoid.

I will be surprised if Whimsicott isn't part Fairy. With its behavior matching how the fairies act and being the only non-legendary Pokemon to have Prankster as its ability (Klefki has the same ability and is part Fairy) it really should get the type.

I also want Whimsicott to learn Crafty Shield.

As I recall, in the Japanese version of the anime, it says something like "saa" or "sana". Unlike the English version, Pokemon rarely just drone on their entire names, oftentimes using just one syllable from their names in an animalistic tone.

Well, it was partially for balance, considering Steel and Poison used to be THE most screwed-over types offensively (their only super-effectives were already covered by Fighting, Fire, and Flying). However, even before their weaknesses were confirmed, I recall people pointing out that in several myths, fairies were susceptible to steel, such as with swords, so the weaknesses seem pretty sensible.

I'm fairly sure one of the leakers has stated that Delcatty is part Fairy now, though I admit I don't remember seeing a screenshot.
Of course, it doesn't matter anyway, because Delcatty's stats are god awful.

one physical and one special attack with decent power. Even if that were all there was, that's still a helluva lot better than what most attacks started out with (remember Dragon Rage being the only Dragon-type attack?). Hell, types like Fire and Electric are still having issues with physical distribution, and specially-inclined Fighting and Ground types are almost non-existent, so depending on how Fairy's treated, it may actually turn out better than some other types.

To be honest, while it's pleasing that Fairy is almost guaranteed to have up-to-par offensive options from the start, it's really not THAT great of a type offensively. Dragon coverage is probably the only noteworthy thing, and being yet another type walled by Steel is unfortunate.

Fighting and Dark are still pretty decent advantages, especially Fighting (which arguably needs balancing just as badly as Dragon). Also, Steel lost both its Dark and Ghost resistances in turn, besides which, unlike Steel walling almost everything else just because, a resistance to Fairy actually seems a bit more warranted considering Steel has an offensive advantage against it.

I like it, to be honest. I'm disappointed GF didn't go maximum fanservice with it, but there's no way that was going to happen anyway. The fact they even bothered with subtle fanservice through the are hips, shoulders, etc is quite pleasing.
