Pseudo means fake, or one thing pretending to be something it's not. To say that an immunity to a type is a requirement to be a pseudo legendary would also be saying that an immunity is a requirement to be a legendary. However, not all legendaries are immune to at least one type.

So tell me, if a legendary doesn't have to be immune to a type, then why does a fake legendary have to be?

Having an immunity does not cause it to be a pseudo. If there was just gen I, you could make any sort of assumptions or patterns for what constitutes a pseudo, such as it having to be Dragon type, but then gen II comes along and you get stuck with Tyranitar.

On for the record, no, Aegislash isn't a pseudo either. The reason isn't just DAT IT'S GHOST TYPE, it's that the BST and experience curve and evolution methods are way off

The 600 BST is the bigger indicator, since every other Pokemon that reaches that stat total is either a full-on legendary or a cruel joke like Slaking.

If Goodra has the 600 BST, I'd call it a pseudo. Besides, it still has the immunity granting Sap Sipper half of the time.

I think the only criteria we can really use for qualifiying as a pseudo would be
-600 BST
-3 evolutionary stages

Other stuff can be considered extraneous criteria, that happens to fit most but not all members
-Must be Dragon (Tyranitar and Metagross
-Must focus on Attack (Hydreigon)
-Only one in a generation (Metagross and Salamence)
-Must have at least one immunity (this new one)
