Why do a lot of people /vp/ shit themselves at the idea of people liking the older gens over the newer?

Anytime I bring up preferring the older gens before there was less hand holding and really felt like an adventure where those aspects didn't stay as strong in the new ones, you guys just go crazy about me being a "Nostalgiafag"

Because they're either trolling or autists, plus we inherited that retarded /v/ culture of "hate everything/rage". Legitimate criticism I can understand, but its just silly now. Unfortunately, it won't go away until people ignore it, which they never will because the board is full of 13 year olds and bored college students, who fill out poll threads and read internet comics ironically. rather than upstanding and educated citizens who enjoy talking about Pokemon, making stuff and sharing images.

I loved Gen I/II and would be fucking hyped to the max if GF announced they were making another remake of Gen I, but I don't really see a need to jump in when people shit post about it.

I mean, it's not surprising, because 3DS and all that, but I loved those animated sprites and overworld visuals and I'm just not nearly as impressed with everything we've seen of GenVI so far. I'm not even excited for a Gen3 remake anymore if it's going to look like X/Y.
