Garchomp is going to get the first hit. Question is if Gardevoir can stay standing and if it can how hard it can retaliate. Which depends on how Mega Gardevoir's stats get upped and how powerful its (assumedly Fairy-type STAB) move is.

Game wise Diantha would win seeing as how her Gardevoir likely has Moonblast but I meant the matchup to be more in the Anime/Movie sense of battle.

Supposedly we have a confirmed 90 BP Special Fairy attack already, which with all likelihood will be available to Gardevoir. Considering the chances of Mega boosing Gardevoir's HP, Defense, or Attack are fucking zero, all dat stat goodness is going into her Sp. Attack, Sp. Def, and Speed. Either she outspeeds Garchomp or she dies (unless she has some new overpowered Mega ability) and if she gets off an attack Chomp dies.

Someone gather Cynthia's team, perfect shit and all when X/Y comes out.

Someone gather Diantha's team, whatever EV/IV's it has, and all when X/Y comes out.

Put them into the same order as both of their respective trainers, battle it out. That also includes the same moves.

One can only imagine the possibilities, if the anime was awesome enough to take the camera off Ash for a couple of eps to do that. The closest the anime has ever come to a champ vs champ battle was Cynthia vs Caitlyn (Garchomp vs Gothitelle), which I don't think lasted long. The Origins briefly gave us Red vs Blue.

A full 6 v 6 anime style battle between Cynthia and Diantha would be absolutely amazing, but still a foolish dream as things currently stand.
