2 just felt incredibly lazy having to revisit the same area as gen 1. gen 3 has the most memorable areas, battle tower with 16 medals for some serious post game contentm sootopolis, fortree city, diving underwater, team aqua and magma, rayquaza, the legends surrounding the regis and the methods required to get them, roaming latio/a/s, metagross, groudon, sceptile, flygon, absol, drake, steven hngggggg.
2 is the worst because it introduced so few original pokes, most were baby pokemon (the worst idea ever), or shitty single-stage, and the towns and gyms are forgettable. and this is coming from someone who played silver growing up. also reusing elite four/gym leaders from kanto for elite 4, and the legendaries aren't that good.
