Hey guys, with all the recent talk about "70 Pokemon", I decided to make a little chart just to put things in perspective.

Prior to gen VI, we had 649 Pokemon, but the number of Pokemon that people actually used is significantly smaller.
Though SOME not-fully-evolved Pokemon get used, for the most part people tend to use only fully-evolved-Pokemon. For that reason, I've excluded all not-fully-evolved Pokemon from this chart.

I made this so it'd be easier to view and compare how many fully-evolved-pokemon belong in each generation.

Granted, there are most likely going to be a few more legendaries in Gen VI, or maybe even more regular Pokemon so clearly this list is subject to change.

I'm not really sure if there's much to discuss here. Just wanted to share it with you guys.

I gotta say, after Gen V's 82 fully evolved pokemon, Gen VI is pretty lackluster in terms of quantity of new Pokemon.
