ITT: Some knowledge for you retards.

The "ONLY 70 NEW POKEMON" posts seem to be disregarding the fact that this generation is almost exclusively new evolutionary, non-legendary lines.

It's unfair to compare 70 with the previous gen's totals. Think about it this way - if you take away Xerneas, Yveltal, Zygarde, and Sylveon, we're left with 65 entirely new Pokemon. If you only count the new, non-legendary Pokemon lines of Generation 2 & 4, this generation's analogues, Gen 2 introduced 76 new Pokemon and Gen 4 only 69. Their number was hugely inflated by pre-evos, new evos and legendaries. (And this is just my opinion, but Gen 6 seems to have relatively few shitty gimmicky Pokemon like Chatot or Cherrim)

For good measure, you can count mega evolutions as basically being new Pokemon, as they are functionally similar to the huge number of evos Gen 2 & 4 gave us. We know of 17 already, and there are likely many more undiscovered + even more released in events. And you know there's going to be a shit ton of event legendaries, so when it's all said and done, we'll easily be in the neighborhood of 100 effectively new Pokemon.

tl;dr: SHUT THE FUCK UP
