What defines a dragon pokémon?

What defines a flying pokémon?

What defines a fairy pokémon?

Useless questions, which we cannot answer. The designers at GameFreak decided which is what. We can only observe and try to make -some- sense in their logic.

Normal Pokemon have no special traits.
Dragon Pokemon are typically powerful reptiles of some sort, though "muh name" or "muh legend" is also an excuse to slap on the type to those that don't deserve it.
Flying Pokemon are ones that fly, but don't have any other traits beyond that and their primary one
Fairy Pokemon are shit.

Fairies are anyhing but positive creatures. Theyre pranksters that cant define the line between a harmless joke and a dangerous one. I wish GF didnt go all cutesy on the Fairy types design.

Well, they use attacks like Charm, Sweet Kiss, Play Around, and Baby-Doll Eyes. The rest, like Fairy Wind, are magic.
Also, while they may not be positive to us by playing pranks, they sure as hell are having a good time.
