So /vp/ I'm hearing a lot about how the 3DS game cartridges are virtually unhackable. This means we won't be able to find event-only legendaries until we're informed about them. But what's more, I'm concerned with the future of my favorite tool - PokeGen.
I'm fairly OCD when it comes to the IVs of my Pokemon, and I don't have the time in my life to breed my 'mons manually anymore. What I normally do is use PokeGen to give myself a near-perfect Pokemon and play the game from there. You might argue that this takes the fun out of the game, but ever since I found out about IVs and Evs, I can't play normally anymore.
X & Y are coming soon, and while I know PokeGen won't update immediately, I'm worried that not being able to unlock the cartridge data may mean no update at all. So what do you guys think? Could PokeGen still update? I'm also worried about distribution servers, but those based off the GTS (PokeCheck) should be mostly unaffected.
