For most of the less than three stage ones? I agree. Mega Absol and Mawile could have functioned fine as normal evolutions, even with the same designs. Mawile would be pretty powerful because of Huge Power, but that didn't stop them from giving other Pokemon OP abilities in Gen 5.
I'm disappointed we didn't get more cross-gen evos. I would have loved to see a Farfetch'd evo, Jynx evo, or Dunsparce evo instead of BLAZIKEN AND MEWTWO ONLY MORE OVERPOWERED EDITION
