>>14307364I'm quite pleased in general.
My three complaints are as follows:
1. The game seems a bit thin on features perhaps compared to some of the previous games. Then again, none of us have really played it, so we don't know for sure.
2. I'm not too thrilled about the mega evolutions - they seem unnecessary to me and they just don't look that good to me for the most part. I'd have liked it better if they just went full retcon and simply rebalanced the stats/abilities/types of old 3-stagers, and then just made regular evolutions for the 2 and 1-stagers. On the other hand, I could see them really growing on me, as long as we still get both megas and regular evolutions in the future.
3. They half-assed the type chart rebalance. Grass and Ice still blow goats.
What I love:
1. Solid starter pokemon
2. Character customization
3. Enormous regional dex holy shit
4. New EV mechanics
5. Fan-wishes granted (Dragon-type charizard, Fighting/Dark/Psychic starters, Ghost/Steel, Poison/Dragon, Haunted Tree pokemon, I could go on and on - this is the aspect where I really can't understand the hate - everything here is what people have been begging for for years)
6. First legendaries I've liked since Gen 2
7. A sane number of legendary pokemon
8. Pokemon rebalancing
9. Type chart rebalancing
If there are new mechanics for IVs, this is instantly going to become my favorite game in the series.
