Light Ray is learned by the Flabebe line and deals Grass/Electric damage. There's also Solar Beam which now deals Grass/Fire damage

It's not a nerf as much of a tweak.
Solar beam did SE damage to 3 types and NVE to 7
Now it does SE damage to 2 types (Ice and Ground) NVE damage 4x to 2 types (Dragon and Fire) but hits everything else for neutral damage.

Making solarbeam fire/grass would be one of the most retarded things gamefreak could do. It would only be good against ground and ice if that was true, making it almost useless.

The Fire damage might also get increased with Sun, which make Solar beam have no charge time as well. Tons of Grass types have abilties that work in sun too.

Kenpachi mentioned it wasn't eligible, but that was a while ago.

Hawlucha walks on the ground from it's model and I doubt something like Doduo line could participate either.

but grass is neutralized by fly so they only take *2

those moves may have a wider range of effectiveness but are also more likely to do neutral damages where the mono type moves would do *2
