GameFreak did it, why can't you?

I think an oil type would be appropriate. Nothing to retcon, but it could balance types. No effect on fire and weak to flying, but super effective to water and ground.

Have you ever made a type? How would it fit into a metagame that may (or may not, depending on how you argue) change due to fairy types?
