In fact, if you look at fan art or trainer sprites people make or whatever, people don't draw their trainers with hats for the most part. If it was true that they were inseparable, Battle Revolution would never let you take hats off. GameFreak literally just didn't want to put the effort in to different hairstyles sans the hat. Your head canon theories are ridiculous.
