I just say it is just because of how animalistic it is, but yet it has so much power - yet it doesn't know what it is capable of and is just throwing it around

I honestly thought it was always how we all had to assumption that a Mewtwo was a calm, collected, yet powerful Pokemon. It was the Mewtwo in the first movie that gave us all that impression.

I think even the Extremespeed Genesect Mewtwo is pretty calm; not vicious or anything.

And then this Mewtwo comes along, and it's completely different; vicious, fierce, angry as all fuck, powerful as all fuck.
I really like this Mewtwo (also love how it doesn't talk.)

Anime Mewtwo poisoned the well.

People pretend Mewtwo has always been a clone made from a fossilized Mew's eyelashes, but that was just the movies. If you pay attention to the researcher's notes scattered all over the Pokemon mansion, it pretty clearly explains that Mewtwo came about when some Pokemon mad scientists captured a pregnant Mew in South America, brought it back to Kanto and did a bunch of gene-splicing experiments on the fetus to make it more powerful and more vicious.

Mewtwo being a facepunching berserker is perfectly in line with the video game back story.

Cold, methodical Mewtwo is something else altogether.

But either way, it definitely wasn't possible in '96. However, live birth cloning, as in the case of Dolly The Sheep, was very possible. Game Freak even had a Pokémon based on Dolly planned, but it was deemed too controversial. Mewtwo takes the exact same concept and adds the idea of messing with the DNA before inserting it into the womb.

Movie Mewtwo: Calm, composed (until Mew shows up anyway) manipulator who has enough cunning to lure Ash and the other trainers to his island fortress, where he has built or at least deposited some high-end cloning technology. Explained as a creation of Team Rocket's.

Game/Origin Mewtwo: Feral, territorial creature that has no interest in Red or anyone else until they show up on his doorstep and start throwing things at him. No speech. No fortress. No grand plan. Just hangs out in a cave minding his own business until the humans try to piss in his pool. No ties to Team Rocket (unless you want to pretend the scientists were on TR's pay roll, but that's a stretch)

Pokemon the Origin used in-game Pokemon sizes for more accuracy which is why Red's Charizard is puny compared to Ash's Charizard.

Well let's take some things into consideration

When pokemon was starting out there were a lot of things that even GF seemed unsure of, even more so the show.

I don't remember if Lt. Surge claims he's from America in the game or if that was a show specific thing.

When the show started out America and South America are stated to exist (On non-pokemon animals existing as well).

I thought Red's charizard was actually bigger in this, since it was actually taller than an adult... whereas ash is a tiny fucking kid compared to Red

I based that on how brock towers over ash and then when there are adults around, brock is shorter than them and charizard is barely taller than ash.

But back to my point. There isn't a real restriction on them yet. Mewtwo Mega evolved with using a stone that anyone could see. There was no trainer involved. And as much as i hate the anime and love the games, the whole "Trainers bring out the better in pokemon" is bullshit regardless.

And i loved the Origins a lot more than the shitty anime, but they purposely seemed ignorant of shit. Like do they really not know that Kanto isn't the world and that there isn't more than 149 pokemon?? I can let the game slide because they didn't make the others yet, but that was purposely being ignorant.

I'd hate to use the anime as an example but remember there was a time where Pokemon were seemingly something "New" as if these super powered monsters were recently released into the world (Food implying regular animals existed). This was sort of implied in the first game aswell given Oak wants you to fill the pokedex.

Pokemon are now canonically old and seemingly the animals of the world so shit has been retconned.

Oak could've mentioned the other 600+ Pokemon that Red was missing, but he's just a kid. He's gonna have enough trouble finding Mew. And, if this follows the game canon further, he'll eventually make his way to Mt. Silver in Johto to train.

The Original concept of Pokemon were that they were genetically modified monsters created in laboratories and that you had to buy them in stores or vending machines instead of finding them in the wild.

Those in game measurements are just examples imo, and Charizards sizes seem to change like crazy, even in teh same episode.

She exists because random, no-name scientists JUST HAPPENED upon Mew DNA, JUST HAPPENED to come up with exactly the same genetic sequences as Team Rocket's despite being unrelated and not having any access to their files or processes, JUST HAPPENED to end up with an identical creature, and JUST HAPPENED to come up with the same name.

The first time, yes. He didn't wipe Ash, Misty or Brock's memory the second time but it's not like they knew how to make him or anything.

It's just a really, really contrived plot point and was probably ultimately done just to avoid pissing off the genwunners who would otherwise sperg out about how Mewtwo is the strongest Pokemon and wouldn't need a mega evolution.

I'm talking about the games. Your character writes the Pokedex in the games. If they already had the data on the Pokemon, why the fuck would you be sent out with an empty Pokedex? The reason i mention the grass as proof, is that there's flaws in it. For one, team rocket is on the island still. So i dont think he turned back time, but altered some of it. Like removing him building his base, which means the grass is still there, but team rocket was still there so they had still came to the island.

Are you dumb as fuck? The anime handles it differently. It doesn't have names in it because it is blank. Professor Oak states it is blank. It has nothing in it. That is a fact. When you see a Pokemon the name is added and location data is added probably based on common knowledge from people that live in specific areas. You add the data only after you catch it and can confirm things. Nothing else makes sense. It doesn't make sense from a story standpoint to give you something blank, tell you to fill it up only for it to automatically fill itself up.

How did the Pokedex find that information out then/ Oak said the pages were blank. No one has ever shown any knowledge of knowing about Mewtwo in the games. If Oak wrote it, wouldn't Mew be first? Doesn't it make more sense that your character who fills out the dex would have Mewtwo before Mew because they actually encounter Mewtwo and Mew is still defined as a mirage? If Oak knew about Mew he would have it in the dex before the clone. But you who fill it out have Mewtwo first because you encounter it first.

You just described every Yugioh series but some are liked more than others. GX actually got really good ratings in Japan. 5Ds got the worst ratings with Zexal doing better than 5Ds but worse than GX.

Stop. You don't know what you are talking about. The 3rd and 5th show are usually called the best in the hardcore Digimon fanbase. The shows ratings dropped with each addition however because kids hate change and older fans lose interest when the characters they grew up with leave.

The first two seasons of GX were extremely popular(and profitable). Good cards that were designed to be actually good in the TCG and the characters were much funner. Overall the series was much more laid back and entertaining.

Now if you want to get into lore reasons, Red is the first person to come across Mewtwo and actually get proof(he caught it, gary's shit got smashed)
But that said, all other pokemon are already put in a certain order, that Red didn't encounter them in. his first 2 were charmander and Squirtle, which neither of them are #1... which means that even though the pokemon are blank, their information is already preset.

When ash holds up the pokedex to mewtwo, i believed it didn't show anything at all, like it was confused as fuck. The only reason it shows up in game, is it's a game and has technical limitations that reality doesn't have.

Digimon Tamers(season 3) is a separate canon from 1 and 2. It doesn't write them out. It happens in a different universe. The character Ryo is from both universes and actually appears in season 2 during a flashback. He appears in the movie too.

GX is a mixed bag but is usually praised for giving multiple characters development which most Yugioh series don't do. It has the most developed main character in the franchise.

GX has a huge cast and was abruptly ended so Synchro monsters could take over. Of course some people needed more development but the point is that the main cast was developed enough. They came a long way. If you didn't finish season 4 you didn't even get the final development.

Why are you commenting on shows you haven't watched since you were a child? The dubs change and add dialog. People normally call the Digimon dubs gag dubs because of all the random jokes and character derailments they added. It is basically a completely different show in English and Japanese.

I commented on why i atleast stopped watching. New gang, same plot.

I didnt finish GX, the battles felt all the same to me. I played the tagduels of psp, come across a few main characters who's decks were lacking badly, whereas yugi's was unique as fuck. The Obelisk blue girl for instance had a few cyber dancers and the rest generic cards.

You can't use the games as a gauge on peoples decks. Most cards are never printed which means they never get added to games. She had rituals and her cold cards which were never printed. Yugi has an extremely generic deck of random monsters that don't mesh together. Yugi has the worst deck of the 4 protags. By far.

That was season 3. Season 4 was the Darkness and Graduation arc. It was more like he was a descendant of a king and she was that kings guardian transformed into a demon to protect him better.

No different from Yugi being the reincarnation of someone who is inside his jewelry or Kaiba being the reincarnation of someone who's true love got turned into a dragon that became his ace card. Yugioh backstories as a whole are stupid.

The thing with game Mewtwo is that, while it's tremendously powerful, it's not impossible for a trainer with a team of six sufficiently leveled Pokemon to take it down (which is what the player ends up doing). None of the legendaries in the series are invincible. Suicune, Ho-Oh, Lugia, Kyogre, Groudon, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Zekrom, Reshiram, Kyurem; all of these legendary Pokemon must be beaten or captured in order to progress the story in their respective games (whether in their original versions or later updates).

But in the anime, it's different. While there are certainly some legendary Pokemon that aren't portrayed as all-powerful, others would be near-impossible to beat even for a Champion (who are also portrayed as almost unreasonably strong the anime). Mewtwo was one of those legendaries.

This could actually be the reason all event legendaries as well as legendaries in general are last, and more common Mons such as Ratatta are at the beginning. Nobody knows much about the legendaries, so they're pushed to the end. In more formal encyclopedias they might even get a section for "unreliable/incomplete data".

There /is/ a picture of Blaine and Mr. Fuji in Cinnabar, if you talk to a painting that, I believe, is in the Fossil Lab. Since the other hints about Mr. Fuji taking part in Mewtwo's creation were confirmed with Origins, it wouldn't be too far fetched to think Blaine had some involvement in-game as well.
