Since the lineup for Pokemon League has been volatile for the last Gen, I think this will be a trend for the third/second version of the main game. Like in B2W2, we have Gym Leader reformation, in Kanto, the Elite Four changed as well.

So why don't we? I think AZ will most likely be the Champion for Z or he is in an important plot. Perhaps someone new will replace Diantha? Who knows.

Yeah, I've seen a few people say that it should be a male by now, it's stupid. There are female Gym Leaders, I'm not sure why people think it's just a novelty thing, it's just a thing. We had Alder quite recently, and N and Ghetsis served a role more similar to the Champion in that same game.

Only gripe I have is Diantha is too similar to Cynthia, even the name, with some Iris sprinkled in. They;re made an archetype for female Champions now. Malva, that Hippie chick, or the Dragon one might have been cooler. I like the E4 this time around though, for sure.

I just wish she wasn't revealed so quickly, or at all, really. As in you'd first know about her when you meet her in the game. Seeing her months ahead with everybody screaming "CHAMPION" then having her actually turning out to be champion is incredibly disappointing.

Her gender doesn't really matter. Cynthia was a big deal because she broke the glass ceiling, but now Champions are just Champions. It's not a gimmick. It's just a thing.

I can't fathom how you're bored either. Sure, Iris was the last champ, but it was Alder before her and a stream of dudes before Cynthia.

But if you're really so upset, then just wait on the game to be released and more details to be discovered. I'm pretty sure we will have other Champions as optional bosses with how popular it has been in the last few games.

But it's probably going to be Cynthia, which is grand.

Ugh, I'd want any champion BUT Cynthia to be the one challenging you, even Wallace. It's too predictable and annoying to see her in every game since her debut.

I love having a douche bag rival because it's sweeter to beat him in battle.

I miss the fact that a rival can become champion because it's a story about both trainers trying to out do each other since childhood and by the end of the game, it all comes to one last showdown.

The Arceus event could have worked just as well with Steven--he goes exploring ruins, too, and obviously knows a lot about legendaries--but Game Freak opted for the Queen of Sinnoh instead.

I don't mind so much. If you're going to have a postgame super-boss, why not make it a good one? I like Wallace more than most (favorite Hoenn Leader), but his Water typing makes him a joke Champion.

She was there because it was an event about Sinnoh legendaries. It's like how Steven is the one who triggered the Latios/Latias event, because they were Pokemon from the region he was introduced in.

I don't mind Diantha being the Champion, it's just that it was so predictable, and I was hoping the Champion would be someone completely out of the blue. I had hope when AZ came out of nowhere suddenly, after being dismissed as some random hobo guy, and challenged you after Diantha's battle, but that turned out to be just some random battle and not really a challenge.

I meant diverse typings, like with Wallace it was all Water. But grinding for Blue was easy, you just had to camp at the Hot Springs in One Island and VS Seeker for a couple days to get to like level 60.
