OU and MegaOU will be initially split, with MegaOU being a nearly unplayable spamfest. Slowly the OP Megas will be pushed into Ubers leaving MegaOU as the primary metagame.

Sig move: Kingly Shield
Acts as protect, any contact move harshly reduces the attacker's atk stat.

Ability: Stance Change
When using an attacking move, Aegislash turns into Sword Form. When he uses a passive move, he changes into Shield Form. These changes start when Aegislash moves.

Well, time for more Trick Room with Cresselia/Jelly Man

The HP is a problem though since it must take a ton of EV if you're not running the T. room.

At least it resists Bullet Punch and ignores Vaccum wave and Bullet punch

Resistances don't mean dick if you don't have the stats to back them up. And so far every Fairy type seems to be pretty lacking. Xerneas is an uber by default and I'm not sure about Mawile and Gardevoirs megas
The only thing I can really think of for Fairy so far is something switching in on a dragon and then encore shenanigans

I'm desperately hoping Cloyster can somehow learn Water Shuriken (I heard that it was a phys, water type 2-5 hits attack). A 2-5 hit water attack is the only thing I think he's missing.

I can't shake the feeling something like this will happen as well. The ideal would be Smogon properly balancing them within the tiers because they're actually interesting, taking into account the fact you only get 1 per team to allow them be somewhat more powerful. However, between there being too few Megas for good distribution and Smogon being assholes they'll probably just be all thrown into Ubers/some specific tier for Megas.

Fun times ahead.

Anyway, Clawitzer's viability is really resting on the boost from Mega Launcher, and the moves he gets.

If it's 30%, there's no point running Water Pulse over Surf or Hydro Pump.

Also, if he only gains access to Water Pulse he takes a tumble into NU. However, if Mega Launcher's boost is like technician and he has access to Aura Sphere, Dark Pulse, and Dragon Pulse, things are looking up.

Seriously, if they decided this was going to be the gen to change how things work for types they should of at least given ice more than one resistant and drop a weakness.

Storm Drain, like Sap Sipper, will only proc once on Water Shuriken, similar to how Bullet Seed will proc SSipper once.

Beat Up + Justified works because Justified doesn't make you immune to Dark moves.

I bellive dragons do have more things to worry about, but they're still not at anything's mercy, really. Outrage is not nearly as viable any more. Misty Terrain can stop several sweepers cold. Fighting types are going to see a little bit more trouble, but thats it, they're still going to be everywhere. I believe Togekiss has a comfy spot in OU now.

As far as my team goes, Weavile will be enjoying some nice buffs, as it doesn't have to watch out for steel as much, same with Zoroark; Focus Miss isn't as critical.

I'm worried about Bronzong though, you can basically kiss it goodbye. I'm really curious how other steel types are going to be effected.

I think Gardevoir could find a nice spot in the current meta, especially if GF keeps pushing more Weather stuff. Trace is actually really good for this because it effectively lets her adapt to ANY weather, copying Swift Swim, Volt Absorb, and all manner of powerful weather abilities. If her Mega form has a good stat spread and Trace it may even make her OU material.

I'm not sure how uniformly awesome megas are going to be, but there will definitely be some that get put in ubers. It is unlikely that they all will be, though, so I expect OU to become really focused on dealing with your opponent's mega and protecting your own. What will be interesting to see is if certain megas are allowed in UU or not. It could go either way; there will probably be some fairly shitty ones that wouldn't see use otherwise.

That's probably right since since gen 3 legendaries have mirrored each other to some degree but they're by no means bad stats. It's a lugia tier wall with an immunity to the most common attacking type in the uber tier and resists fighting which is also one of the more common ones. As for weaknesses, poison is non existent in the tier and the only steel attack is bullet punch from the odd scizor or metagross.

Jirachi's still OU for sure, can't resist that delicious flinchax. Metagross might not be so lucky though, what with having more weaks and having competition with Megamawile and Heatran and such for offensive steel tank.

Also I imagine Azumarill will go OU just for its sheer utility (e.g. stopping Excadrill and Kingdra sweeps). Its defensive type is great too.

defensive:

top tier: steel, fairy, flying, ground
high: poison, dark, water, ghost, normal (i think the increase in ghost type moves might actually make normal happen)

this is pretty much Lugia pre multiscale, or a legendary Gen. 2 Umbreon (before the point where Close Combat and Superpower existed, Hi Jump Kick wasn't massive powerful and only Heracross had Megahorn.)

It has two weaknesses that not many opponents carry, resists Sucker Punch, Pursuit, and Mach Punch, and gets an automatic buff to help its relatively weak STAB. I think Xerneas has a chance of making it as a tank with that stat spread.
