Am I the only one bothered by the fact that there is not a third evo that is like a big iceburg? I just feel like this is an unfinished evo chain

Nah, cause I see it as a simple reversal where the ice stalagmite becomes an ice stalactite. I also like the abruptness of Avalugg's design, just this huge lug that abruptly stops which only serves to accentuate his bulk. Plus, I find his flattop amusing.

This. I really do not fucking understand GF design philosophy. I give them credit for sticking to their guns about wanting ice to be a defensive type sometimes, but it's like theyre not even paying attention to their own game. Do they not know what weaknesses they gave ice? Are they even trying to help it out with stats/movepool/ability?

Feels like they're absolutely not.

I think they're just tackling concepts most of the time, rather than caring about the meta game. I do wish we'd get more offensive Ice-types, since only Kyurem, Abomasnow, Weavile, Cloyster, etc. come to mind, and they're all dual-type.

It should have been Dragon/Poison but they gave that to the sea horse.

What dragon types don't exist at this point?

Grass/Dragon
Bug/ Dragon
Fighting/ Dragon
Fairy / Dragon
Normal / Dragon

I think that's it

Everyone of these besides Dragon Fighting and Dragon normal would be counter fairy.. which we can't afford.

Anyway lets face it we'll never have an OU ice type outside of perhaps a really fast Steel/Ice (Narwhal), it's just a shitty type to have because ice is learned by everyone and the stab is not worth the weakness.

Until ice is given abilities and moves specific to to ice type pokemon it's always going to suck.

Everyone trys to imagine a type combo pokemon of every kind in OU but you can't think like that

Legendary combo types still count. it's not like you can't enjoy the mechanics of these unique combinations in uber matches.

Also Kingdra was the original dragon /water.

Adding another pure dragon at least makes it even...

something like:

Compacted Ice:
All super effective moves are treated as neutral

then give it some good support and recovery moves and it would make a great tank

Ice's weaknesses include rock and fighting, which no single type resists in combination.

Ground nullifies the rock weakness, but adds a tragic weakness to water. Ghost can help, but when has it ever failed to help a type?

I'm more interested in ice/fighting. SE against dragon,flying, grass, ground, rock,normal,dark,steel,and ice. A handful of pokemon,primarily ghosts, wall that, but it's only a handful
