Apparently Noivern's stats were revealed and his BST revealed that he was this gen's Volcarona, with stats akin to a special sweeper Aerodactyl

Does anyone have the exact numbers, or even close estimates? I remember seeing them posted, but that was on my phone and I can't find the thread now.

It was a 540-50 BST with 135 base speed and an okay special attack stat.

Yeah, it's bulkier than aerodactyl, but it's the same kind of concept. An extremely fast attacker.

I think the only reason OP said Volcarona is because they're both two stage pokemon with very similar BSTs, not because they're similar in stats.

hell yeah

I guess I'm grateful that power creep didn't wreak too much havoc this gen, but damn most of these new pokes are useless. All three starters seem to be holding a VIP pass to UU or NU, the pseudo is a mediocre special wall, and the Fairies are all weak with about 2 exceptions.
Am I missing any pokes that will be strong in OU (besides Aegislash)?

Assuming you didn't already include him, Noivern's looking pretty viable because of how fucking fast he is on top of a base 90 Sp. Atk, which while not great, can still hurt coupled with a Life Orb.

Besides him, I don't think there ARE any more usefuls.

Well we don't know all the moves the new pokes are going to learn, some could get great old or new moves that turns a mediocre pokemon into a viable competitor. Pokemon like Talonflame could be pretty good if it has decent speed and attack, plus brave bird and flareblitz. Carbink, Sylveon, Hawchula...we won't know how good they really are till we see some moves plus TM's, and base stats for Sylveon.

Sylveon looks like it's at least UU with those Special Wall stats, and Klefki could wreak havoc with Prankster and that GOAT typing if it has the right movepool. Noivern looks bretty gud with that speed too (fastest dragon to date that's not guaranteed Uber)

But yeah, power creep isn't all that strong with the new mons this time. It's the old mons that have the real power creep, especially the megas.
